Goblin VSU Claim Victory in Peak Assault 2002!
Goblin Venture Scout Unit claimed 1st in class at the county venture scout mountaineering competition ‘Peak Assault’, which was held over the weekend of 2nd/3rd March 2002 near Abergavenny in the Black Mountains of Wales.
Peak Assault is an established county competition in which teams use map reading, endurance and skill to negotiate a safe route through rugged country over two days. They gain points by visiting as many checkpoints as they can in the time allowed.
Goblin Venture Scout Unit finished 5th overall and claimed the Lydia Jack Trophy, which is awarded to the highest placed team from a venture scout unit who only enter one team.
The winning team consisted of Michael Giddings , Sam Parsell, David Toyn, Edward Heseltine and Robert Strachan.
