Goblin VSU in Switzerland, Monday 6th August 2001

On Monday the group split into two. One group (the more energetic lot!) embarked on a two-day expedition to climb the 10,643 ft mountain – Wildstrubel, which dominated the valley. I joined this party and headed up the valley to meet our alpine guide. We sorted our gear and headed for Lammerenhutte where we would shelter for the night before attempting the summit the following day.

The rest of the party had a more relaxing day, taking the shorter and considerably flatter walk to visit the local wood carver.  Where personalised woggles were bought and the joys of compost toilets were experienced by some!  This was followed by a visit to the spectacular Choleren gorge.
