Goblin VSU in Switzerland, Tuesday 7th August 2001

Tuesday started early for everyone. The first group breakfasted at 5.00am and set out to climb Wildstrubel from the mountain hut, the weather was looking good. The summit was reached at 9.00am and what a view. The whole of the Alps lay before us.

The second group embarked on a one-day glacier trek. After meeting their guide at Engstligenalp at 8.00am, they caught a cable car some of the way up and then walked to the glacier where they practiced snow and ice skills (some with more elegance than others!!)  The day was an excellent challenge which everyone thoroughly enjoyed and was definitely something to remember, if only for the unusual ways in which some of us 'absailed' down parts of the glacier.

The whole group was back together again in the afternoon.
